Kelly Lasserre is a painter, illustrator, and designer. A Mississippi native, she grew up in coastal Massachusetts and received her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. After many formative years living in Baltimore, Boston, New York City, New Orleans, and Philadelphia, she now lives in Lancaster, PA with her husband and dog.
Kelly creates images drawn from daily life and her surroundings. As a freelance illustrator, she has collaborated on a wide range of projects for books, magazines, design studios, and commissions. Her background also includes work in nonprofit design and marketing, tour managing, production and fabrication, visual merchandising, and sales.
She also likes floating in the ocean, learning how to sew, watching PBS, finding typos in books, puzzles, and adventures in nature.
